Shad, did you see a fox or other interloper last night?

Dobie, hope Ben's ok!

Has anyone seen @A_Fowl_Guy lately?
I won't stay out until I see the fox in the gully. It comes out late most evenings, just after dark and has been for the past couple of years. Usually it doesn't venture towards the house. The dogs hear/smell/sense it and it slinks away on discovery.
I think because it's been so dry food may be in short supply which is what has driven it to check the coops out. Well before the fox arrives the chickens are either in their coops or up a tree. While foxes do have some climbing ability, thin branches are not their specialty.
Once they are in their coops I don't worry about what predators roam around at night. The coops are very secure.

I remember Farrells from years ago, if anyone smoked in there I think a siren went off. That was before smoking wasn't allowed in most buildings.

A belated happy birthday to ya, DD!:hugs

There was a Farrell's in Fayetteville when I was in college. It was a crazy fun place. Any time the (hand cranked) siren went off, it was followed by an announcement like, " So-and-so brought the only 3 friends they have in the whole world here to help them celebrate their birthday, so now, we want you all to sing 'Happy Birthday' to them. Stand up, So-and-so!"

(They had a birthday sundae that they would give you for free, at the price of the public discomfort of being sung at)

No hiding under chairs there.

Sounds like it was a fun place!

It was! They also had an ice cream concoction called "the Pig's Trough," and if you ate one all by yourself, the siren went off (of course) and the whole room was informed, and you were given this pin:

I just did a quick search and sadly they closed the last remaining store earlier this year. Too bad, must have been a fun place.

Morning Cafe

Well, it was a hot and muggy, sweaty weekend. Got up to 87°F in the house but it is a cool 78°F now. Replaced the start/run capacitor and YIPPEE!!!! Can't believe the other start/run capacitor only lasted 1 year...they are usually good for at least 3 years, too bad they don't warranty the parts. Cost me $40.47 + my labor
Hope everyone else had a pleasant weekend.
