This isn't the first time this has happened. It happened awhile ago and some of our moderators helped me troubleshoot it though we couldn't recreate it. That was awhile ago and I hadn't had any further issues until recently.

I have push notifications enabled on my tablet, and one of the notifications I get is reactions from PMs. Now, randomly, I've been getting a push notification that is saying there's possible spam from BYC, and it's always a reaction notification from a PM.

On the one today, two people had reacted to my PM, and there was a push notification for both. The push notification saying possible spam took me to my post, but the post doesn't have anyone else who reacted to my post in that time frame besides the two people who I did receive the notifications from. Therefore, the notification is coming from that post, but didn't seem to be an exact reaction notification because there was no one else who reacted.

Off topic, but how on earth does Chrome detect spam? That's all I use for a browser on the PC, and it's never once detected anything. Maybe that's a setting within Chrome?

I use Malwarebytes, which jumps in now and then —never about BYC, though. On my iPad, I use Safari and nothing's ever popped up there, but I rarely use it.

My emails from BYC come into my Google account email on both devices just fine.

I don't really know. I do know, I occasionally hit this spot (circled on top of the screen) on accident a lot, which always pulls up this:

Which I don't think that has to do with anything.

Maybe @notabitail knows?

I get a similar pop-up, but it says my notifications are off. I'm not sure what notifications they mean, as I get emailed by BYC only what I have selected to receive and it's not referring to BYC notifications. Just Chrome ones. I don't know what they'd be notifying me of, but maybe that's the culprit?

I'm not sure there's anything in Privacy and Security that would affect it, but it's a very long list. That's where I saw notifications are blocked. I suppose I did that, but not sure when or why.

So on receiving notifications, in your case they're blocked, I'm thinking the push notifications. The push notifications come in like a text or email notification on a phone would, but doesn't show the text like an email or text notification might. When you pull down your screen to view notifications, they're there. On a computer, I think they'd come in on the bottom right corner (PC, at least) and be in your side notification bar. Because they're blocked, if you enabled BYC's push notifications, I don't think you'd receive them.

That's just settings for the site. It shouldn't cause a notification like that.

Ok. Do you have any idea why I'm getting random push notifications that are saying spam detected? Or even how Chrome would be detecting spam like @Debbie292d was wondering?

The only thing I can think of is Chrome thinking that the volume of notifications BYC sends are spam.
Oh. That sort of makes sense. Though, I've had push notifications on for years and have received a lot, but didn't get any notification like that. Maybe Chrome had an update that is doing that?
