Get well wishes for your sick kiddo! Hope you get some rest too!

Whew...glad we can at least still post the hunks as long as we properly edit them.

OK gals, (and lurking guys...My DH is still thinking about joining...) I better get to work. Cleaned the coop yesterday, need to clean the people house today. Probably more later, since I just can't seem to stay away.

SE- If you don't get hexagons for the Spring swap, it won't be because you didn't try!
smile.png
In fact, I have already finished two for the spring, just in case I join it.

Thanks everyone for the thoughts re: my sister. She went home yesterday and I was sad and happy. You know how us "old folks" like our "routines". I have so much I should do and so much I want to do. There is a difference. I am ready to crochet some more, got to clean out the coops, play with the baby turkeys. Then I'll have to do the fun stuff.

As soon as there are peppers on the plants I will take a pic of them. Right now the leaves are just growing back after the chickens got through with them. I didn't put the wire fencing around them quick enough.

Hope you got my squares, Maw and hope you are feeling better.

I have an honest to goodness crochet question for all of you or whomever wants to answer...I have been doing it for awhile, but what the heck does chaining one two three, or whatever at the end of each row *really* do? Like before you turn the thing...I have had the best luck with chaining one, but I still am not sure what it is doing for the square!
gig.gif

I learned how to do a round a little while ago. Still a bit rough on that. but it might be the start of a real genuine newby granny square or two in my swap pile for you all.

It's getting chilly here and my squirrel instincts or something are coming out. All I want to do is bake and make soap and crochet and (I should can, but I don't) then curl up with a few good books and be nice an cozy. Of course if that cruise comes along...my bags will be packed!

I am off to hook a bit then I must pick up the kiddo from Brownies...I hope she liked her first day!

You probably won't get rid of me til later tonight though...since my addiction is strong and I am loving the BYC Hookers Club Therapy!

You need to be a Brownie troop leader!!! Sooo much fun, I was a daisy, then a brownie then a junior scout leader...all great fun, even a den mother for cub scouts!!! You have to do it at least once in motherhood-dom!!!

That crochet wquestion can probably be answered from a youtube or crochetcabana tutorial video since I am not sure exactly what you are doing..check some vieos and see where your mistake is.

I do the nesting too in the fall, stock up on my craft supplies and clean my house and get ready to hibernate!!!!
wink.png

haha! I would be a leader, maybe someday, for now, though I am going to just volunteer. My daughter has 33 scouts in her troop and they always need volunteers.

Actually it's not a mistake,

Surprising, I know. I was just wondering what the purpose of doing the chains was when you chain a certain number at the end of a row. That's all. I was just wondering what it did.

Just curious.

I am off to try and stay busy. I am not tired enough to got bed yet, even though it is already dark and kind of freaking me out. It got dark about 6:30 tonight...a little later...so nuts! And to think we are going to have to turn clocks back soon and then it will be getting dark at 5:30!

Hi - Darlene - I have thought about some kind of website- I will have to check it out now that the weather is getting colder. I just need about 10 more hours a day to do all the stuff I would like to do. Winning the lottery would be great and I could give up my day job and just do all the fun stuff all day! Unfortunately, I buy lottery tickets (about $2 a week) and forget to even check the numbers - I should clean out my purse and maybe find I am rich!

I have 6 kids - five of them are boys. I was a den leader for 10 years. It was a really good time, but I can't figure out how I did it. I had between 9 to 19 boys at my house 3 Mondays a month! Did day camp, went camping at a Boy Scout camp and still worked a full time job. I wish I still had that much energy. My daughter was a Brownie for one year, but preferred hanging out with the Cub Scouts!!!

Rocket - all I want to do is curl up and be warm. Its cold here too! I refuse to turn the heat on until November - told the (grown) kids to get some sweatshirts. I think the reason you chain at the end of the row is that it counts as your first stitch on the next row. Like the instructions will say "slip stitch into the first stitch and chain 1, 2, or three - double crochet 2, chain 2, double crochet 3" which make your chain the first double - single - half crochet. I know, clear as mud!

I was supposed to be out in the garage sorting fleece - way too cold - so I came in and knitted 2 rows on the shawl I am making. I am now going to hook some - so at least I know I am not the only one with lots of projects going at the same time!

You all have a good night - I am going to hook or knit or sort or read a book - so many choices!
