Got the chicks all rearranged, sorta.
All chicks hatched this weekend went into the nursery. Jim got our brooder/nursery put in half, with the last 2 weekend hatches on one side, and this weekend's on the other side. And the ones that have gotten feathered out outside with the others. Yay, growing up and moving out.
OOOO have yall seen that lil purple sewing machine at wal-mart? Its like under $50, and it does all sorts of wonderful things, or so the box says. Someone hit Jim over the head and make him buy it for me.
Ok, dishes are chanting at me, think they're gonna take over the kitchen. Gotta throw hot water and a few lemony scented bubbles at them. Hopefully it will quiet them down.

Oooo, Scoot! Nice! very pretty! And they look like they will keep my hands wonderfully warm!

I am going to be very colorful and bright for my winter wardrobe.

Yup, I am distracted by peeps, BYC and just about anything else you can think of... Off to go see if I can find a quiet corner (ironically enough it is near my babies) and really hook something this time.
Of course, if the kids downstairs don't stop howling like hyenas I might have to use the bat on them...(my kid can carry a tune as long as she's not with her friend downstairs...then they summon hyenas, coyotes and banshees. ugh)

Scoot, I love that color! lol In fact, I love it so much, it's one of the colors of the prayer shawl I made for Ms. Naomi. And on the afghan in the closet I refuse to finish.

How'd you get it to show the darker tones to it? I always end up getting the more magenta-y parts showing. hmm.

LOL I like it too!!!...i had to "work" with it so i could line up the darker colors on her mitten....wanted it to stand out...

evening all glad to see everyone hooking away, and playing all day, well I was kid free for most of the day today, and found my self at a loss, almost didn't know what to do with myself. but then I found my self out in the hen coop working away with the girls watching from below, as I stuffed up holes and tried to make it a little less drafty in their coop, I took and made a really thick mud mix and then plastered it in all the little open nail holes as the sheet metel was reused, for years has had a million holes in it, which doesn't make it very warm in the winter so I got to play in the mud. filling up holes, I sure hope it works. And I discovered today that the little boy silkie I got at the chickenstock who I hadn't named just yet, likes to eat mud! LOL!!! so his name is now Muddy Buddy LOL! I would go to steady myself on the run cage and he would hope up and eat the mud off my fingers. and then got the hens to doing it. What a mess they are, So much fun to watch. and I have a 3 generation show girl cockeral that is named Happy that loves to follow me around while I am working so I had lots of company today. But alas the cold wet weather is getting to me and my knees hurt and I now have a killer head ache not to mention I got about 0 hrs of sleep last night so I am going to get of here and finish my coco and take a hot bubbly me time and then crawl in to my extra kingsize bed, under my nice warm heated blankets with my hook and yarn and try to come up with some really cool chicken hat patterns for 1mommahen. So I hope all stays warm and snuggly and has a great evening later gals maw.

I love the mitten(s) Scoot. Just thought I would tell you again. I can't find the yarn though like it, what brand is it? I want to make a scarf to match.

Maw, you always have the coziest plans. I am resisting the urge to crawl into the giant kingsized bed too. hahaha... speaking of which, how did the pine cones and grapevines and all of that work out? We need pics!

Skand, that's pretty cute that you are going to have to make Miss Naomi's sister a shawl too.

They will look so cute together.

Well, I need to get my butt off here and focus...focus...focus...ugh...nothing but distractions today...

Lazy day here, searching the web for retirement property with DH. It's so much cheaper to live anywhere but here!
