Good Morning all! Thanks for the great welcome! I'm happy to be here!

Alpacachick: Hi there! Ok, there was a time when we had two alpacas boarded at the farm we purchased them from, but we ended up never being able to bring them home because of some issues with the land we were going to use to keep them on. It was sad having to sell them back to the farmers, but we had a few great experiences while we had them...walking them on leashes, babies being born, etc. Anyway, they were sheared while we had them and I intended on learning how to spin, but never got past just watching someone else spin. If I sent fur to you to spin, when you have time, of course, could you spin it and send it back? If you'd be willing and able to do it, what would you charge? I have no idea how much I have...maybe a kitchen garbage bag full. I would be so thankful if you could help me out! Just let me know!
Again, thank you to all of you for the warm welcome!!!! Well, except for the one who slapped me in the middle of the night.....just kidding!!!!!! ;-) LOL!

Those are cute lil critters, and a gorgeous big critter Scoot. We had some eggs Jim bought that we hatched, and out of almost 6 dozen eggs, four hatched. One being some sort of polish hair-do, one tiny guy that looks like uncle fester/penguin. Our lil polish guy, Dapper Dan, gets picked on from the others cause of his top hat.

The hat I saw was from a lady on one of these threads. Is that the hat you girls saw too? She wouldn't share the pattern, but wanted to sell them of course. Don't blame her I guess. The lady that owns that hat is from Iowa and thinking about buying some of her birds. We have a big show in Iowa City this weekend. I have never been. It's going to be nice to get away, just daughter and I. Leaving the boys at home.

If she has that hat with her I'll try to get it.

I want some silkies. I hope they have some. My hubby said no more but I'm just going to get them and put them in the coop. He'll never know!!!

I'll probably tell him because I'll be so excited. I guess I better get back to cleaning. My ceiling fan is getting furry and with company coming I don't want that .

Queen: those are purdy birdies. I have 5 baby polish. They are a little crazy but I love them. I think one is on a suicide mission. She keeps running into the section with the big hens and trying to fight with them.

So wanting the get my sqaures layed out and figure how I want to put my friendsip jacket together. Not like I don't have a few more things to finish SS, Zoe's afghan, and a few Christmas gifts, ad the regular chores around the place....

Yes Lovemychix thats the hat and good luck this weekend trying to get the pattern, like ya said I don't blame her either I might sell the patern for a couple bucks or so, or sell the hats... Maw may come up with one even more great than that one.

SK sorry to hear about the bad hatch rate, I would love to see a photo of your uncle fester/penguin.

Hey gals, spent a nice day with DH, and DD was home early too! Made pumpkin pie, choc. cheese pumpkin pie and pear-raspberry tart! Done for today. It's only the 3 of us tomorrow and then friends for dessert! I love Turkey Day!

Wasn't planning on going out on Friday until I got the Wally flyer with $8 blue jeans in it! Oh well! Have a great T-day all!

Ok gals here we go,

Ris I clicked the link but my puter is fussing again, so but I think that you sent me that link a bit ago if I remember right, the chicken is pear shaped and with curly-que legs, if so I have done that pattern to death as it also makes a great monster thing to. just minus the beak and add different arms instead of wings, but I was thinking about that pattern but then decided after looking at the pics of that other one that it wouldn't work as it will need the leg flaps for over the ears, but if I can't get around this one I may try that one tonight and work with it a bit to see what I can come up with. What I need ya'll to help me figure out is how to do the tail feathers! I mean I can make the whole hat look like a silkie but I would also like to try different breeds, and maybe a turkey and a goose hat too. that would be to funny! So my crafty freinds any ideas for different ways of doing the tail feathers?

Queen I love the hens too cute. and I love your pyrenees that just so happens to be what we are picking up on friday!! but shhhhhh don't tell the girls as it is still a surprise.

well I came up with a great fall time game for the kids! Feather Hunting in the yard, to see who could find the most feathers and the smallest and the largest feathers, that way I will have plenty of feathers for all my arts and crafts and the girls had so much fun out there looking for them and my yard got cleaned up after the seasonal molt.
