DH was diagnosed with pneumonia on Monday. His father has had pneumonia and bronchitis off and on for about 6 weeks now, and his mom has had them for about 4 weeks now. They both went back to the DR yesterday and was AGAIN diagnosed with pnemonia. They have been insisting that we come to t-day dinner even though DH is sick! They are also having it at my DBIL and DSIL's house this year and their 2 girls are highly suceptable (sp?) to pneumonia and usually end up with it every year! DH's 2 sisters and his parents all said that no matter what they are going over their for T-day dinner!!!

Let's just say that I have been

for the last several days with DH and with his family.

DH kept trying to cave and say we were going, but I told him NO!!!

So, we finally sat down and discussed what we're going to do from here on out. Next year, we will be having T-day dinner here, and (if they choose not to come over here), we will meet them that evening for dessert and some family time, but not until we have had our dinner here - even if it is just us. And if he thinks that he can change his mind next year, he's got another thing coming!!

Anyway, I have managed to pull together a pretty good last minute dinner for us. I've got a lot of my dishes prepped and ready to go in the oven in the morning. My turkey is in my roaster as I type and will cook low and slow all night long. It will be so tender by morning that it will be falling off the bones and I will have trouble getting it all out!

My chocolate pie and pumpkin pie are baked and in the fridge. Really, the only things I will have to worry about tomorrow will be cooking potatoes for mashed potatoes, green beans, make rolls, and finish the deviled eggs. I'll be putting my dressing, broccoli casserole, & sweet potato casserole in the oven.

OK ladies, it's been a long and emotionally exhausting day. I'm off to bed. Have a great night ladies. I promise to try and check in more often!

Oh! I forgot to tell you! Yesterday was day #10 and the few eggs that she let me check had veins!!

my chickens love me! First thing this morning, they get pumpkin!!
Well, the turkey got thawed finally, off to the oven for it.
Now, time for me to get the rest of it done, or well started.
Good luck everyone, and if it disasters out, take pictures to prove you were pushed to shoving the inlaws, and out laws into the stove!!
Love yall~

Sorry to hear the inlaw troubles Steph, mine are passed on but my MIL was a handful when she was here..unfortunately those genetics were passed down to my SIL too so we don't share much space together. My husband had a bad case of "walking" pnuemonia last year and ended up in the hospital with a collapsed lung over it..scary time..took weeks and alot of meds to get well, in addition to a week long hospital stay so do take it seriously and get the anitbiotics and good medical treatment.

Happy T-day all! I too, am thankful for all of my "hooker" friends!

SE you must be a class act . . . I can think of lots of terms for my MIL that is also passed and "handful" is much classier than I could put it!

Bird is in the oven and preps are done, can't wait to eat and enjoy!

Have a great day all! Lynda:D

I know how frustrating it can be but it's my blood relatives for me. Our twins were two months premature and had breathing problems when they were born, and one of them has mild asthma. My parents are heavy smokers including in the house. (mind you I have no problem with smokers, I don't judge them) But my parents got angry at us because we couldn't bring the twins over to their house due to the cigg smoke. They decided to have thanksgiving at their house with the family and told us that it would just be better for the twins if we had Thanksgiving at our own house that year. They weren't open to having it at ours. So we had it at ours and were just fine. It was actually really nice not having to deal with the same old BS! Hang in there! Sounds like you're doing the best for your family!
