Howdy gals, sorry I have been MIA for a bit, but I will try harder se get yer whip out I need encouragement. LOL!!!! well dh is waiting for potential employers to call everyday now so until he gets a job I will be posting here and there for awhile but I will do my very best to keep up. So I see I have tons to read so I will try to do that on and off, I will try to post early in the mornings and late in the evenings that is if dh ain't beat me to the puter, cause if he gets on before me than well I don't even try staying up and waiting as he will just stay on for the spite of it. so mostly morning posts for now.

Ris I will have my SS in the mail tomorrow, and SE have you heard from angie, have you gotten your spider yet, I haven't so far anyways!!

And Gals just hang in there when I have more time on the puter I will get those pics up of my gorgous egg that jacie made for me as my SS. How its so pretty sitting under the tree with the soft white glow from the christmas lights on it. IT just makes me Smile Alot!!!.

and to all those that are NEW WELCOME!! Glad to have you here with us on our cozy little corner. grab a chair here near the fire and a good hook and some yarn and join right in!!!.

I've got those pretty little washclothes down. I made 4 of them today in 4 hours. I've got the pattern in my head. I love making something that is pretty. Not that single straight across boring stuff. .

I have some other patterns too I want to try. I can't wait!! I love this it is like a challenge every time I do something now.

Karan: When you open your greenhouse I have all my relatives coming to buy from you.

I can't wait!!!! Since you are so close to us. Hop, skip, and a jump. I think.

Closer than Drakesville Amish Greenhouse. Are you doing vegetables and flowers? I can't wait until spring. My garden got flooded this year.

I usually have a pantry full of canned goods and I didn't even get my canner down.

Next year is going to be better!!!!

eggshel: What a beautiful coat. My sis is preggo and I can't wait to make some gifts for her. Great idea besides the traditional blanket. I'm sure I can find a pattern to something similar or you can share yours.

Skand: I'm just too jealous of your life. I grew up on a farm and I didn't miss it until I got married and had kids and Knew they were missing out on it. I do have chickens in town just because I'm Super Duper lucky to have great neighbors!! Man I would kill to live in the country. Hubby has applied for a state trooper job that will most likely relocate us, if it does I will settle for a fixer upper in the country and give up my 4 year old beautiful home in town just to have some freedom and have more critters. I would love to have a couple goats. I just love goats. BTW: Those babes are

. I have hatched before in my classroom. What a special gift to see that!! I would have a incubator if I had room for all those special gifts.

I had perfect luck hatching and then one night I went home and the light had burned out and I literally had to give all the chicks CPR in the morning, they were stuck to the cardboard. To find out they had given me Cornish meat chickens. I gave them to my mom... chicken lover + meat eater. I came to her house in 3 mo. to check on my chicks that I raised and she said she HAD to eat them because they were getting toooooo FAT!!!!

She told me that they had gotten so fat that they couldn't walk. I think she just wanted some chicken...story is that I grew up on an actual chicken production farm.....with my mom head kill.

I won't let her next to my flock now.

I think maybe if I had a potholder pattern that wasn't as boring(even though cherished cause my grandmother passed it down) I would be able to make some more

Ten years ago I crocheted my Grandma C a Christmas Tree for her birthday-Dec 16. She missed putting up a Christmas Tree, so I crocheted her one from a pattern Mom had cut out years before and given to me.

As it turned out, that was the last birthday Grandma C celebrated. She died the following April, but that tree gave her some joy

Now I have the tree...and think of the Grandma I miss so much when I put it up.

Good Morning all....

I have been posting notes to Ris... (Shanah) and she said its ok to open my gift...

WOooHooo!!!

I got a gorgeous crocheted snowman complete with a red and green scarf, a corn cob pipe and two eyes made out of coal!!

Its sitting on top of my processor, with his beanie baby chickens and turkey. I will photo it, and post later..

It has made my desk look about as festive as can be! (After all, it is a darn trailer!!)

Athena Glad you got to pop in, The SS is such a great spirit lifter isn't it? And ya just can't help but smile thinking someone you have never come face to face with did this for me. Hey I guess you deal with that every day there at Troy's though don't ya? But I think everyone has enjoyed this sooo much

It's always good to hear from you. Sounds like Shanah made some really cute items to keep that holiday spirit glowing. They sure sound great..

Betsy so good to hear from ya. You should post a photo of the Christmas tree you did for your dear Grandma. I'm sure it's beautiful.

Hey gals I thought I might share this with ya's just in case ya didn't already have it. Noah had to write to Santa so here is the link he went to so he could check and see if he was on the naughty or nice list. http://www.emailsanta.com/naughty_nice.asp then he got to email Santa his letter and he got a reply emailed to him with in seconds without checking anything it just popped up. He was soo eggcited we had to print them out. So just in case you need to help the youngins . They will have a blast.

Lovemychix thanks for the words of promotion on the Greenhouse, we are just starting to get some ripe tomatoes from our plants now. Yes we will have both veg and flowers. This will be our 1st year so it's a learning experence, I just hope we can pay for part of what we have put into it.

But we both Love it. I am hoping this will be my ticket out of the Sheriff's Office and get to stay home with the things I love the best, my family, critters and plants.

Well I'm headed to finish the round I'm doing then off to bed.

Man, Ima be late for for work trying to catch up on all the posts I missed yesterday!! Travis is slammin and jammin with end of semester papers so the computer is pretty much off limits for DH who loves the full tilt poker and me for my "chicken page"!! He is finished tomorrow so all should settle a bit..well, except Erin is home all week next week, which I totally look forward to since I am also using vacation days next week!!! Yeah!!


Can someone send Feathers a pm please and check on her? Hey, ya'll think that hoodie outfit Eggchel made is awesome, wait till you find out the woman is multi craft talented!!!!! Awesome gourd crafter too and most likley, like the rest of us, into all the other tempting crafts that fill up our lists!!! Welcome to the thread, mod or no, I can promise you will make friends with this group and "need" to check in everyday, lol!!! This group, like crochet and chickens, is very addicting!!!

Anyone seen Perched? I hate for the new folks to not jump right in and make themselevs at home, worries me abit when we don't hear from them...don't want to seemoverwheleming but the other side of that coin is the impersonal nature of some of the other craft forums on the internet so we'll work toward finding a happy medium with the new folks I guess...seesm the feedback fromthem is that things are working well, hope so..

Jacie...girl you sure have gotten some raves over those eggs you make..can't wait to see theone you made for Maw!! And yes the SS project was first rate..fun, great talent, good friendships...def. do it again next year..really liking the Christmas in July idea too...might think of a spin on that so we can share our new craft ideas that we might be working on for Christmas, like home brew or whatever anyone is working on that others might like to try..I'll think about it awhile but that should put a shot of fun into the slow summer months.
