LOL we just started taking it seriously this summer. We got the leghorn last year's dyed Easter chick, then I had to find him a girlfriend, then the size of a bag of feed didn't make it worthwhile to only have 2 chickens, and only 1 egg a day. SO we got more, but only kept 2, handheld and stoogie. Then this summer, we got some and thought about selling chicks for easter. Well, when people kept coming and buying, and asking for more....it took off! Minus the cost of feed, about 150 a month, and the cost of pens, supplies, and meds just in case... October we made about $400, november, $300 and so far december..$241 .....We're not making much, just enough to be able to enjoy them.
Next year, crossing fingers, We'll actually see a turn around, since having the pens already, and having more chickens "putting out better" lmaooooo
