I believe God gives everyone a gift. It may be cooking, listening to people or singing. Mine is drawing. I paid my lway through college the second time by drawing for people. I got my second degree in advertising/graphic design. I did it for a year after graduation and quit. The joy was gone. I quit drawing. But the past four years I have rededicated myself to God, and I feel obligated to get back into it. I've been doing a lot of wood signs in the past two months. The unfortunate part is I am now 46 (today is my b-day), and my hands hurt. I try to give a lot of my works away with a testimony on the back of each one.
What I am trying to say is this: If you have a gift from God, don't waste it. One day you will wish you could get a do-over. God is good. All the time.
Wow I have not finished reading this thread, its wonderful to have artist talking and sharing there work.I wish this was around When I was in school, art was my world. I had an art teacher that taught us a lot of meduims to use, Mr Morris (high school) he believe in is, we had a vristy (not spelled right) art team, teams that high school sports were called. Our teacher believe in art and how we can make a difference in others life's., our art team went to many hospitals, we did murals on wall so the sick kids can enjoy while doctors helped them.
Mr. Morris also enter our art work in the county fair, he was a wonderful teacher.
Here's a picture I did when I was 16 years old (lol now a grandmother of two) its an airbrush, using India ink and not masking anything.THIS WAS MY FIRST AIRBRUSH PIANTING I DID (I did post this on another thread)
I do see the mistakes that I did lol but airbrushing was really fun.
I have no idea how to airbrush. I would love to learn. I started taxidermy classes last year, and I had to use the airbrush for the first time. That is impressive. I would also like to learn how to quilt.
I live about 10 minutes from Pillissippi (think that is how it is spelled) College in Maryville. Thought about taking some classes.
Having the best airbrush is very helpful, 30 years ago the best airbrush was the passha (not spelled right) double action, you will need to get a extra fine tip just in case you bend the first one.its a lot of fun, also learn about paint lol, I did this on a car the tiger it took days, but not knowing about paint and metal, will the tiger was washed off the day I finished it, rained that day
I got into glass ectch, the acid frosted the glass, so I did car windows most was roses on the back side windows, that was really fun.
