BYC Drawing Club(NEW!!!)

I don't know about how long it takes on shading, but my sketched relatively take a few minues-5 to 30 depending on what I am working with. However, I am still figuring out shading even after all these years... though I did take like 12 years off from doing much of any artwork. I just picked it up a few months ago.

I was inspired to paint rocks a few days ago. Here's a broody hen, daring you to touch one of her chicks:
That's awesome! I love it!

I know! I want to take some pictures of the rock in some straw soon.
Whoa you are awesome at painting! I've hardly ever painted before but I'm tempted to try.... Do you have any tips?

I only use acrylics for rock painting; I fail miserably when it comes to paper (for some reason, I can use watercolor on paper fine). There are a lot of great rock painting books out there, so you could try searching for some.
As for rock painting, I use smooth strokes with a linear brush for outlines and some details, while a small-tipped brush works well for fine detail. For the hen rock, I painted the whole rock white first, then sketched the design with a pencil.
