By the way, some eggs are drawn on, some are dyed, some are painted, so there is a wide variety of eggs to look at.

Okay.... I took some advice from some people and attempted to draw a human that doesn't look like the Missing Link... I ended up drawing an elf, and I don't know if I reached my goal.. Does it look like an elf or an ape? What would y'all do to make it better?

You definitely have the features down, just a little work on proportions and facial structure, BOOM.
I wanna say the actual figuring out how to draw a nose that doesn't look like it came off of the wicked witch, eyes with some depth (And lovely brows) and lips that look like actual lips are the hardest parts. You pretty much nailed them. lol

These are absolutely amazing! and I have no idea what I'll be doing next year. All I know is that I want to complete at least one big piece; I want to fill the 32 in sheet of paper I bought. I'm not as avid of a drawing as most of you. I do a couple of pieces here and there, but I usually don't set time aside for drawing. I need to start setting aside some time for drawing so that I can improve as I've only been drawing for a little over a year. Maybe that should be my new New Years Resolution. I think I remember you posting something about drawing for 10 years now, well it shows. Your work is magnificent.

It's hard to do. I 't draw for a long time, and when I became a mom, I started drawing again, and portraits, which I always thought I was awful at. It takes up a lot of time, and I have years with art and years without. Like when my babies were small and I wasn't sleeping much. This piece I started 6 years ago. It sat as an outline of just my daughter until 3 years ago...sat again...and the bulk of the work I have completed I did earlier this year. 2 commissions, no time for my own stuff, and another long lapse. It sure is hard to get going again. But, it's there...the idea is on paper. I have another one I began a decade ago, and a few others I can't seem to finish, but I will. Certainly make time if you can & you will improve quickly. If you draw this well now I can't wait to see what you'll be doing in 10 years time! Please do fill that 32"! There's no such thing as "overdone"!!

Ditto to all said here! Sparky, I can't wait to see where you're headed! Wow, girl. PLEASE don't let others knock you down or stop drawing like I did. One person's words can be really harmful, but just like mama says, it really is just envy. It took illness & life's experiences to get me back drawing again...and what emerged was beautiful, but don't waste time. This is to all of you beautiful wee youngins, actually...believe me, time passes quickly. Don't be like me where you don't have any confidence or guts until your 30's! Be yourself, be true, and make time for your gifts. Don't be consumed by it, either...(I know many artists with egos who have thriving careers but have let everything else suffer for it, or have stepped on others.) Find your balance...be creative...be inspired...and don't let ANYONE steal your happiness or poo on your talent! You guys are awesome More! More! More!
