As you know having gunnies the eggs are small but they taste just like chicken eggs. If you pay the shipping I'll send you some gunias if your eggs don't hatch.

I'm new to Guineas too - have had grown ones in the past and didn't have a clue as to how to keep them and we ended up losing them all to predators.

Now I'm raising keets. At what age can they start eating the white millet?

I am not familiar with white millet ....


I like mine to get to good size so I use a flock raiser at 8 weeks but Turkey Grow from the beginning also by week two I serve mashed up hard boiled egg's 3 to 4 times a week ......

Guinea do like to get up high and hang in a flock .......

I have some guineas for the first time now. They are three different colors that I am wondering what they are. Three are all white, two are brownish gray with white on the chest and I think three are french pearl? Any help would be appreciated!

I'm afraid that they are fearless, and do go in the road...and I've lost 3 out of 17 to the road. Most of the time our neighbors will stop for them, but we have tourists coming to the beach that drive too fast, and couldn't care less. BUT--I do love the little dickens, and started 17 more this year. I lost most of the others to foxes and a Cooper hawk attack. I've tried everything but permanently penning them (which sort of defeats the purpose of the bug control)...and I've learned to do the best I can. These birds aren't for everybody--

but I sure do like them.

I live N of OKC on 65 acres I-35 is in my front yd oh I live about 200' from it. Anyway it's noisy! They stay clear of it! They wonder all over the place. They return to their coop at night to eat. It is covered with chicken wire and had chain link fence around it. That way no predotors can get at them at night! They have greatly reduced the amount of bugs here! I found out that if I keep the hens in the coop that the roosters would not wonder far and get into trouble!

My loss to foxes and Cooper Hawks actually happened during the day...I do pen them up at night, not that they cooperate all the time about going in. My food isn't really a treat when they've have bugs all day.....a challenge I am still working on.

My guys only liked millet treats until they were about 6 months old--then they started ignoring it......but they love sunflower seeds. The trick is to see that they are getting the protein they need, which is why the millet. Good luck!
