The nearest fire to us was about 15 kms (9.5 miles) away I think.

That is scary close as far as I'm concerned!!

Hello @Aussie-Chookmum ! It was a pleasure reading your interview! You do have a fun sense of humor. I really like your "local bush land" idea, and that you raised guide dogs. There was a show on Disney+ (trying to think of the name) about the process puppies go through to become guide dogs; huge insight on what it takes.
Pretty cool story how you got started and for a 7 year old coop, it looks like its held up pretty good! Your flock is beautiful
I am curious... does the pink coloring really help with pecking?
