I am downsizing to bantams for my chickens. Only problem is I discovered you can keep at least two, maybe three bantams to one standard. So downsized in size, but not numbers. Chicken keeping always seems to be a slippery slope.

Being a mathematician, I can appreciate the concept of needing more smaller ones to equal a larger one - so in theory you are 'downsizing', but in reality you are 'equal sizing' (after all, 8 SLICES only equals ONE pizza, right?)

Chicken math is a real thing! Notice I started with 8? I now hover around 100!

I think it is a real thing - chickens are like drugs - very addicting, and also the 'gateway drug' animal - look at me, a few chickens...to now chickens, ducks & geese!. But...I wouldn't go back!

Amazing interview!! I loved all of it and as the caretaker of chickens, ducks and geese (none of them really believe they BELONG to me), I can relate to so much of what you said.
