Come say hello to CC who comes to us from Southern California and Texas and has been a member since April 2023.​

1. Tell us a bit more about yourself. And is there a story behind your member name?
I am CCsGarden or you can call me CC. I'm from SoCal, The most beautiful place I lived in my life. The mountains were always full of snow and the hills around me so green! Now I live in TX.

CCsGarden was the only name that came to mind when I joined. So, not much behind my member name.
Here's my view from my house in SoCal! I miss it so much!

2. Why and when did you start keeping poultry?
I started keeping my flock of 10 back in 2023. Eggs were a big thing for me, since I bake and sell a lot of my goodies. Fresh eggs everyday, made my day! Eggs got more and more expensive and eventually it made me want to start my own flock.

3. Which aspects of poultry keeping do you enjoy the most?
I really enjoy the friendship of my flock.

4. Which members of your flock, past and present, stand out for you and why?
My rooster! A few months ago, he hurt his neck.
I was about to give up. I ran to the store and got some vitamins, gave them to him and within a few hours he was better, standing, crowing and walking around. I was so pleased to see this! After 5 days of treatment, he was recovered.

5. What was the funniest poultry related thing that has happened to you in your years as an owner?
My teeth being pecked and them jumping on my head!


6. Beside poultry, what other pets do you keep?
At the moment I have 3 doves, Alexander, Pichon ( a story behind his name) and Little one. All were rescues! They are very happy to be with me.

7. Anything you'd like to add?
Yes! I bake and sell what I make. I do mainly nature photography, help and care for baby birds, sick chickens (and well ones too), play the violin and sing.

Nice to know more about you @CCsGarden . Is that a photo of a pumpkin roll? I can't stop wishing I could have a piece. Your doves are so adorable. I read they can live a long time? I would miss that view of the mountains too. Very gorgeous.

Yes, pumpkin roll! I've made the most money from thoseYes! Doves can live a long time (20 yrs or something like that).
