BYC Member Interview - Gritsar

Oh Kat, I have missed you! I'm so glad to see this interview. I'm glad you are doing well, though I'm sorry to hear of your health issues.

The pocket scramble.

I too had to learn that one the hard way. I even showed up at the gym once with an egg in my pocket. (thankfully, it didn't break) And so true on them favoring the mud puddle over fresh, clean water.

Some things I forgot to mention in the interview. I think y'all can recall how much I adored my dad. Sadly, my dad passed away October 16, 2012, two weeks shy of his 90th birthday. I still miss him like crazy, but will always be thankful that I was able to care for him in his last days.
Keith finally retired from the police department in May of 2012, after 30 years of serving on the force. He now spends his days finding ways to be under my feet more than the dogs are

We are busy planning a new house here on the farm. I will soon have all the coops in my backyard instead of on a separate acre to the west.
I'm still battling cows on a daily basis and never did find that coop door that cow ran off with.

Hi Suzie, good to see you.

Yes, Dragon was very special indeed. I now have another crossbeak, Whatsit. He's a sebright cockerel. Keith and I alternate between chastising him for being such a pain in the butt (he's suffering his first incident of testosterone poisoning) and admiring him for his spunk. No matter how many times my brahma hens grind his little butt in the dirt for daring to attempt a mating, he comes right back for another butt whooping.

Gritsar! I was so excited to see you back here! I'm glad to hear things are still well! I missed your stories about the doggies!
You mean Moose and his brother Mini-Mouse? How Kane went from being a tiny, adorable little puppy into a 126 lb. spoiled rotten brat I'm still trying to figure out.

Hey, Gritty, just found this thread.

Needing any broody hens?

Nope, between Widget, my young cochins that just started laying, and Emma the endless broody (brahma), I think I'm about at my limit on broodies. Want a little crossbeak cockerel that has decided flogging me is a good way to spend his days? If only he knew how short his days have become.
