Another BYC generated friend heard from! Thank Bamabex! and so Cool! So how did you get your nickname of BEX? My husband gave me mine, which I incorporated into my HAM radio call sign. N0BEX.

Would be interesting to know if there are any more HAM operators out there on BYC! Hmmmmm....sounds like a thread title in the making!

My Mom and little brother always called me Bec or Bex. I never let anyone else call me that until my Mom passed, somehow after that happened it started sounding sweeter in my ears.

We actually have a HAM radio that was hubs' fathers'. Neither of us has any idea what to do with it though! :gig

HEY! It's never too late to get your license and isn't all that hard to do! You two should look into it. Getting a radio and antenna is the hard part. The rest is a piece of cake...well and a lot of studying and tests, also.
