BYC Member Interview - OneMountainAcres ** UPDATE 09-08-24 page 3**

Lovely interview Jess! Thanks so much for sharing a glimpse of you and your family.

I hope we can try again to get me some turkeys from your flock this year, even if I have to come get eggs/poults personally! Dang post office. :p

Lol, they're laying now! I actually hatched my first poults of the year last week and have a broody that's been sitting over a month now! We'll get you some, one way or another!

Nice interview from a chicken math Savant!

** UPDATE on @OneMountainAcres **

It's been several years since @OneMountainAcres member interview was first posted; time to catch up!

Not a whole lot has changed for me. I'm no longer a stay at home mom, I work at the state park around the corner now. My son has graduated, my daughter is in her senior year of high school. We lost our dog, Sparkles and cat, Monro that were mentioned in the interview and now have another older dog, S'mores and a couple more cats, Ollie, Ivy and the barn cat, Coco. I've downsized my flock dramatically this year and I'm slowly easing out of making hen saddles.

Sorry for your losses 😕

@OneMountainAcres sounds like quite a few changes over the past few years! Sorry about the loss of your dog and cat. Hope you're enjoying your job at the state park!

Thank you, they were very special and very hard losses. Sparkles (dog) passed not long after the interview and Monro (cat) passed away this last winter. Ollie, Ivy, Coco, and S'mores have been with us for several years now and are quite the crew.

I absolutely love my job at the park! This summer is my 5th season there. I'm seasonal so I only work March through November and have the winter off. The scenery is awesome and it's only 15 minutes from home :)
