Hi peeps. I'm from Leverett,(next to Amherst- where only the H is silent). Started out last year with a mixed bunch of 12. Working on colored eggs this year. Just got an incubator, I think I need to hide the checkbook. Would like to find some nearby neighbors this spring that got extras to trade/sell. bye peeps

Hey all. It's good to see we have neighbors. Wife, kids, dogs, etc etc all out here in Westminster. We will be looking for chicks or poults in a few months and I am willing to drive pretty much anywhere. Give me a holler if you have birds or know who might. Looking for fifty plus rhode island reds, 6 Narragansett turkeys and other heritage fowl breeds.
Tom Tracy Tori Beth Kris Zach Matt and Chunk. Can you guess who is the dog?

I just called Klem's in Spencer. They will start carrying chicks around Easter.
I'm still not decided to buy this year or not...
Anyone buying more???

I just bought 6 baby chicks from A new Farm and garden supply store in Taunton. The only thing was the said there reds wich could mean RI Reds or NH Reds Or Red Star. There all mixed up and look the same. They said they get differnt breeds every week but there mixed. Ventura Grain is getting chicks soon so i'll wait and get some from them. I like the Barr Rocks.

Hi there,

I am new - never had chickens before! At the moment I have some week old chicks. They are super cute, and we love them very much (especially my kids). I'm in metrowest Boston - aka the suburbs!
