BYC members in Massachusetts?

Thank you! I'm definitely going to the Tyngsboro swap. Just hope I can avoid coming home with birds before the coop is built!

Not likely! Part of chicken math!! CHicks are little and give you time to get something built. Too cold for the littles to go out anyway. That means a few weeks to get a coop built. Welcome to chickens.

Hi Rosemerry, welcome to BYC. Many towns are facing law changes because so many people want to have at least a few pullets. Some keep them illegally. Not saying you should, just say some do. A big discussion going on in BOston, Mayor Manino is in favor of chickens in some BOston suburbs. So if you want chickens, laws can be changed.

Until then you are welcome to visit with us on BYC!

Hi Rosemerry
I'm next door in Berlin. There is a workshop this Wed. http://campaign.r20.constantcontact...bozekhmGaWwirEHfxcI2cA8jk1e_T0utgU7Vo62j7kw== by Megan Megrath, the poultry inspector.
I'm surprised chickens aren't allowed. Is that a new bylaw or is there a minimun lot size?

I know a few people that have had them for years in Clinton. Good luck!

This week was so full of ups & downs: I got my Araucana chicks (rumpless and some are tufted, WOOT!) then today a big rooster fight, ending with having to kill the instigator, then I had to clean up the loser. He was so cute, he fell asleep in my arms while I was washing him. My third rooster avoided the fight entirely and hid with the hens; apparently he thinks the only things worth battling are the cat, the dog and the mini horse.

Hi Suzannaski-
Your link did not work, but I'm interested to see what the poultry workshop this week is all about. Where is it? We're a little busy on Wednesday's, but I may have time to get to some of it.
Thanks!
