Just in case anyone here is from Hanson, MA please be aware that on 12-4-12 at the town offices there will be a Board of Health Meeting you NEED to attend. They are trying to enact animal regulations complete with yearly charges for keeping chickens or other livestock on your property. All this with most of the town being zoned Agricultural. Please INFORM all of your friends about the meeting TUE night. Thanks for your time, Greg

Good luck-- I hope the powers that be will see the wisdom of chickens.

I just found this thread! We're in Gloucester and have 2 chickens & 3 ducks. We HAD 6 chickens, but lost 2 to predators and 2 because they were roosters (the boys now have a happy existence as lap-chickens in Lawrence). We're thinking of ordering some more birds from Murray McMurray for delivery in January/February. Anybody interested in combining orders?

I didn't know until recently that in Mass we have a number of active clubs and I'm sure you could hook up with someone if you are looking for just a few chicks. Just a thought. ALso the swaps have many choices. ONe club has a swap in Westboro once a month.

Ok, we definitely have a Rooster! Does anyone want a free rooster, we just don't want to upset our neighbors. He is crowing at 500am, even before the sun comes up... We are in the mid Cape Cod area if anyone is interested. Not sure what breed he is, but he is black and white, and I can post a picture if interested.
