Any tips on where to pick up some quality pine shavings? Chicks should be here in two weeks and that's the last thing I need for my brooder. I looked online but the reviews are hit or miss and it seems silly to mail order shavings when I know I'll need them constantly.

I don't know of anyone in the Southcoast that has pullets right now. Good luck with the search though!

I bought my pine shaving at Dodge Grain in Salem, NH.

Morrisons agway has really soft shavings, just saying , TSC, local feed stores should have a supply of shavings.

Has anyone ordered from Meyer? How long was the shipping time and what should I expect on arrival day? Does the post office call you and say come pick up your live animals?

I ordered from My Pet Chicken, but they shipped from Meyer. I got the shipping confirmation email Monday around 1:00 and they arrived at my post office at 7:30 am yesterday (Wednesday). I stopped by the post office to let them know they were coming and they called me as soon as they arrived. The post office wasn't open but they let me in to get them. All 15 arrived safely and other than a little pasty but, everyone is doing well so far!
