BYC Newbie in IL

Well, I have to ask if this happens alot on this thread. As you know I am new to chickens again (had them as a child) and I picked out three from my neighbors flock she was trying to thin out. We purchased a cute little coop for new additions and as we were driving the 2 hours to pick it up. My husband and I started talking. First it started, if this goes well, maybe we could get a few more chickens and sell the eggs. Then we get a phone call from anothe coop I was looking at that they have lowered the price to an unbelievable deal. So long story short, I have a cute little coop for my three new girls and a large coop that will hold 10-12 MORE chickens. So in that 4 hour trip we grew rather quickly.

We are going to take our time before we grow our flock as we want to do a bit of work on the larger coop we purchased. I wold like to modify it and use a dirt floor for the DLM. Plus I want to make it really cute with some shutters on the windows and dress it up a bit. There are some really adorable ideas on the coop page, so I'm looking forward to decorating the newest addition to our yard.
