My church always has baby showers-usually for several mothers at a time lol. If there is a ladie's group they would love to host it I'm sure plus it's a good opportunity to get to know people. I was invited to a baby shower my second Sunday at my new church!
Wow, that's fantastic!
I know there is a ladies Bible study on Tuesday, but I forgot to ask about it this morning and I was kicking myself because I really was interested! Maybe I will try to email them tomorrow for information.
It's a very small church or approximately fifty regular attenders, and they are all north of 60s-70s, save the pastor's family and a handful of young children.
That's alright with me! I like old people. Though I personally almost feel like I would be imposing to ask such a thing! 😅 I suppose it's more of a "me" issue, ah well. Either way, there is a farm I have grown up doing summer camps at, and that is at the very top of my list. I would genuinely love to have my shower there, and my sister and I were wondering why we hadn't thought of it before!

Edit: "imposing", not "improving"

@Alaskan I had been meaning to ask, but kept forgetting... What was the Mennonite curriculum you used with your children? My mother was wondering if it was Rod and Staff.
I've never actually heard of it, but she must have come across it during her curriculum perusing.

Rod and staff had some great stuff. However, their stuff is geared towards schools, so it can be a bit klunky for homeschooling. The school textbooks that they publish are good resources, even if you don't want to use them daily.

I used to order from milestone books, which carries Rod and Staff, and always has very reasonable prices.

That link is Grade 4 or 5 Health "Health for the Glory of God" Set. I love that set. Hummm... have I scrambled religions? Is that actually Amish and not Mennonite? *sigh* deep apologies.

Christian light Readers have very good stories.
I thought this was a Mennonite series... but is it just general Christian? Whatever, it is great.

And this set... these are rod and staff... Reading "A Time to Plant" Set is for grade 5. But I loved grade 5 and up readers in this series. The workbooks teach not only comprehension, but also morality. The earlier readers are mostly Bible memorization.

Alright, interesting! Thank you for the links, too.
I honestly also have a hard time telling between Amish and Mennonite.
