Is it possible to exclude signature text from searches? A search for a particular breed, for instance, could turn up a lot of irrelevant results because someone has put what breeds they own in their signature.

The BYC Search here does exclude signatures. The "Google Custom Search" may not and unfortunately we don't have much control over that system.
