RIP ?-2014
Mema, I'm so sorry for your loss. I can only imagine the pain. These furry things enter our lives and give us love without asking for anything, but maybe a little food and water, a dry place to lay their head, and a gentle hand upon their body.
Snips, snails and puppy dog tails, that's what little boys are made of. Whoever wrote this little ditty, didn't know much about a girl and her dog. Every step of my life there has been a dog to share it. Captain walked me to school every day for 7 years. After that, he sat at the bus stop waiting for me to get off the bus. I lost him as a freshman in high school. Princess came to me during my teens. She shared the ups, downs and tears of my teenage years. Taught me that a good dog wouldn't leave, no matter how long you gave her the "Down Stay" command. Tippy came when I had graduated college. Failed a job and ended up homeless, she kept the coyotes away at night even though she was afraid of the dark. Traveled many backroads of AZ, PA, and NJ with me as I searched for who I really was. And now Spook. There are not words to describe my relationship with her. DH sees it. Mom sees it. Soulmates? Could be. I can't even think of the day that she won't be by my side. Her being there is like having air to breathe.
The person who hasn't been loved by a dog, doesn't know true love.
