Keeps water cooler in the summer, and defrosted in the winter. The Solar Chicken Waterer is insulated for year round use. The patented solar top keeps water partially covered. In winter simply fill with warm water put out in the winter sun and the unit will remain unfrozen all day to 20 degrees F Holds 1 Quart of water. If you have 6-10 birds you made need an additional Solar Waterer. Works great!
