BYC / TSC. Swap, Dunnellon, FL was SAT., JUNE 26th

Here are Pictures I took. They are not in any particular order. I wish I'd taken more. There were several BYC members whose pictures I didn't get a chance to take. Every time I went to walk around to get some pictures someone would come by the BYC table, so I tried not to wander off too far.

Aleida...you are a miracle worker!! What a HUGE turnout of wonderful folks. It was beyond our wildest expectations and the TSC people were thrilled. Here are a couple of pics:

It was a really big swap

I only walked around once, and I still didn't see everything! There were a lot more "lookers" than buyers, but that's okay! We ended up giving away 4 chickens and sold 4. We were hoping we would sell everything we brought, but we didn't

We still have the Key West Rooster and hen, a Black Frizzled Cochin hen, a Red Cochin pullet, a Light Brahma Pullet, Golden Laced Cockerel and poultry supplies if anyone is interested!

Sorry if I looked miserable today.....I am surprised I lasted that long out in the heat!

Thanks to Tractor Supply Company and the organizers for hosting the event.
The Fall gathering should be nice with hopefully a little less heat.

I sold my 3 goslings and I saw a lot of people who had bought young birds from me at prior events
and it was great to hear that they are all doing well and even already breeding in some cases.

How can I not attend now? I just wish there was a way to get the 1 pony mule and 2 miniature horses I have to sell up there. But, I won't be picking up my rig from Tallahassee for another week or so, dag nabbit anyhow. Anyone wanna trailer for me??? They're pocket sized 4 leggers, LOL.

Julie, we didn't do as far a move as you're doing, but we had three LARGE truck loads (thank goodness for the lifts on the back of the trucks) plus our truck and several car loads of stuff when we moved from St Pete to Dunnellon. We had been in our house in St Pete for 25 years and had lots of stuff. We sold our house one week after putting our sign out so we had to pack up and get stuff moved out. I'm never moving again!!!

Yup, I absolutely detest moving. It's worse when trying to make arrangements for animals on top of personal stuff.

I had a good time at the swap today. Didn't get there until 11 am, probably missed to the largest crowd but there was a steady flow of people throughout the day. I was the last to leave, pulled out about 3 pm. It was a VERY good turnout in my opinion. A little bit of everything was there. Once again, I sold all my chicks, and my dove, the maran pair, black cochin pair, one araucana, and 2 kittens all found a home.

I still have the 5 BLRW bantam cockerels. Is there any youth members that want one of these? Show me proof of your 4-H or FFA membership and I will GIVE you one of these boys. I stopped at the Bushnell auction barn on the way back, was going to run them through the auction and I was told they'd go for butcher, so I loaded them up and brought them home. I figure if anyone's going to eat them, it should be us, but I don't process our own birds. So if a kid wants one, I will give one or two to a child if they promise it won't go to butcher. Anyone reading this please pass the word on. I really need to get these and two muscovy drakes placed. They are the last of what I HAVE to get rid of before I move.

I think this was the largest swap I have attended so far, but boy was it hot. I bought one EE and picked up an OEG (I think) hen for poultryhaven. It was a lot of fun even in the heat.

It really was the nicest and larged swap I have attended. I'm proud to say that we were able to resist the urge to buy birds, but were able to bring home an awesome brooder cage from cmom! They're the best!
