Very good plan! I found out my chicken was sitting on 17 eggs...

I took 5 out, and one was on day 10 about. The rest are on day 18 or so, she would have abandoned the egg by then, says FarmGal.
I won't go into detail about how horrible I felt about finding a half grown chick in the egg. It was a green egg, so I should have just left it....

Oh no, I'm sorry to hear that!! If they were eight days apart she would've been long off the nest. You don't have a bator, do you?
