I think whatever winter looks like for where you live is okay.

Okay… in central California our winter looks pretty much like our summer:

Do you at least get frost? You still can get winter photos even without snow. Take your poultry for the photo out on a frosty morning and get some unique pictures that way.

Because of the rain we have finally gotten in Novembers and December the grass is so green and pretty

Back during summer heat wave and not having our daily afternoon thunderstorms the grass was not looking too good
