I’m keeping it as a warming/drying unit and backup- the temp control after 2.5 yrs isn’t reliable and my last run had 30% hatch rate- heartbreaking!

My runs just got flooded from standing water in the yard. Thankfully I don't have chicks in the yard, but the roos are crowing like I'm supposed to make the rain stop, lol.

My rooster is the black silkie to the left.

I will set on the 12th so it will be new years day and not eve. I am also giving the rooster more time to cover hens.

Lol, I'm also gonna try to restrain. We just got -3 degree (fahrenheit! Can you believe it?) yesterday night, and weather is so bad recently that I can't even take the Halloween chicks out all day until they're at least 8 weeks old lol. Also all 4 of them turned out to be roosters. Also hawks been visiting every day terrorizing the chickens. Also have 17 chicks arriving in may and our run is desperately too small for 40 future chickens and we have to expand before we get any more chicks..................

Okay. I think that was enough rambling. I'll follow this thread!!!
