Thanks! Ultimately I'm making these for my kids, and BYC contests are just a bonus, so I guess as long as the kids are happy, I have achieved the goal

I’ve got zero ideas for anything this year. I don’t know what the heck is wrong with me. The weather is weird & all I can think about is Christmas.

And what about the egg decorating contest?

I agree. Don’t let it stop you. We can all make the same thing, but they will all turn out differently.

Lets look at this scientifically. There’s so many variables that can’t be controlled, so no two dishes are 100% exactly alike, even if they are the same recipe. Yes, they could be 99.99% the same, but there could be very slight differences, like the amount of salt used in the recipe.

There’s also the fact that every person decorates their dishes or garnishes their dishes differently. They will always look different.

Take my entry for example, I didn’t garnish it. However, I could have garnished it, making it look completely different.

No matter what you do, it won’t be exactly the same as other peoples entries. It will always be different, even if the difference is very slight.

So, to sum it up, I would say go for it and just have fun!
