Congratulations. Have incubator ready if she gets off her nest early to pay attention to the chicks that hatched and leaves some eggs.

Candle them if they are abandoned to see how close they might be. Hopefully they will all hatch at the same time.

The breeder I got the hatching eggs from does. She doesn’t live too far from me, maybe a 15-20 minute drive.

3 of the Silver Double Laced Barnevelders have hatched so far! They are going to hatch different days/times because the hen had way to many eggs, so when I moved her I candled and kept the ones that where close to the same progression. I also have a couple blue eggs in the incubator from my Crested Cream Legbars to hatch in a few days as well. I might already have a buyer for all of them!

First batch of Polkies and Silkies hatched yesterday! 12 out of 13 ( one was DIS). The two remaining are due to hatch tomorrow.
The majority came out paint, four of the Polkies are black. Photo of some of them eating breakfast this morning. For size reference the paper plate is a desert sized plate.View attachment 2868070

14/15 silkies/polkies hatched in all on the first round.
Next is lockdown, today, for the 3 mixed silkie/Marans/RSL eggs my broody was sitting on to test her (she failed... )
She abandoned them at 9 days and they have joined the other eggs in the incubator. Expected to hatch Friday.
