Unfortunately we have a ton of snow already. A solid 13"! This is going to be a painfully long winter here in the Arctic!

Where in the Artic do you live?

The Yukon (Canada). About 150mi from Alaska. One of these days (in my oodles of spare time ) I plan on writing an article about maintaining a coop in extreme winter conditions. Sharing all of the lessons I have learned, many the hard way. There are so many small details, like preventing the coop door from freezing shut! My first winter I spent a lot of time with a hammer and crow bar trying to get the door open.

My hens wouldnt touch a pumpkin last year until i broke it apart within 30 minutes they had this pecked out this year!

Ill have to get a picture of them eating it tomorrow
