I'm trying to distract myself from really, really wanting to candle.
. .no, no put the flashlight away . . .

My makeshift candler that I made started smoking when I tried to charge it, so I threw it out. We ain't lightin' fires! Not in my household.

Now it's day 5 and I really want to candle but my phone camera flashlight barely does anything and didn't work nearly as well as my smokin' candler lol. So I'm not sure what I'll do. Maybe make another makeshift candler with a headlight.

The eggs are doing great. Stable temp and humidity. They aren't bunching together but occasionally I see one kind of vertical and I put it back lying down.

I probably won't be candling for quite a few days.

Egg 2 which is cracked doesn't seem to be doing bad at all. I put it at the very end of the roller in order for it to not crash into other eggs and break, and so far it's working and the crack hasn't gotten any bigger. I really hope it hatches, it's one of my biggest and pretty eggs from one of my biggest and prettiest hens lol. I only have 2 of her eggs.

Bippy hasn't laid any eggs and looks like shes going through a half molt. No babies for her then! I'm starting to hate broody hens

I know the feeling, only about half my chickens have names. One got named Nibbles just the other day after snacking on my pant leg.

What are the parents names? I went with a theme of "Sweet things" for my last hatch since the Mom's name was Sweety.
