BYC's 2025 Spooktacular Halloween Hatch-Along

The dad is a mix from a friend's flock though they think Americauna x barred rock. The mom is one I bought and I don't know her genetics I just know she lays olive green eggs. I heard OE are a mix of Dark brown and blue egg layers. Maybe the the moms, mom was like a maran. Parents below.

Thalassa looks to have feathered feet but I can't be sure with the black background.

Where do you get leg bands for day olds? I can never seem to get the right size.

Where do you get leg bands for day olds? I can never seem to get the right size.

So for the first few days we will use bands for bracelet making because the leg bands we got are a little too big even though there made for day old chicks. You just have to be cautious and watch that they don't get too tight.

The one is only on there because that was the first one we tried and learned very quickly that they are too big

I went outside and looked and she has no feathers on her legs but from that picture and a faint memory I think she did have feathers on her legs at one point

Yes exactly, it doesn't even need to be that fancy even just dollar store ones I use.
