That's right! It's not "the Christmas season" until midnight on Christmas Eve and it remains Christmas until January 6th.

When my mom was a little girl Santa brought everything: not only the presents but the tree and all the household decorations, so when the kids woke up on Christmas morning they woke up to a truly transformed, magical world.

That sounds like a lot of work for the parents, especially knowing the kids will be up before dawn. It does sound much more magical than putting the tree up at Thanksgiving.
