Embrace the Bare Face

When I was 12, a boyfriend said I’d look better in makeup. I wore full face makeup, religiously, for the next 10 years. Trashed my skin (I also have eczema, like you). The last day I wore anything was my wedding day.

I’m never going back! And I truly believe all women (and men) are beautiful as they are. Wear makeup if it’s something that excites you, not because you feel society will reject you without it. ❤️

I haven't worn makeup since around 2010. When I worked in offices or where I needed to conform, I did. However, nearly everything irritated my eyes, and I really do enjoy rubbing them throughout the day. What put me over the edge was teaching, and getting up at 4:15 if I wanted to take a shower and put on make up.

First, the shower went. I take one the night before. Then the make up went. I'd rather sleep, and the kids never say anything negative (and they're hs).

I was surprised about the kids, actually, but they seem to either not notice or not care. I haven't had a single negative comment from anyone.
I don't think most people care all that much. They have bigger things to worry about than whether you're wearing makeup or not. I haven't gotten a single comment about not wearing makeup either even when I was in high school. More women need to realize that most people just don't notice or care either way. They look just fine, people care more about the person behind the face

Pretty lady!

I'm 65 and have never been a makeup wearer. There's a box around here full of makeup products I might have worn once, then never again.

I do use mascara and lipstick for going to church, weddings, stuff like that, but no makeup. I can't remember the last time I plucked my eyebrows lol. I use Neutrogena moisturizer, and that's about it!

I would throw out the old makeup if for no other reason than makeup does go bad after a while and old makeup can have dangerous germs in it

True. It's in the basement so kept cool but like what's the point of keeping it anyway. I must've figured on a rainy day or something lol. I'll go find it and ditch it, then that's one less box of "junk" in the basement!

Thank you
Now to lose about 20 pounds.
You and me both! I lost the first 20 in two years doing IF (intermittent fasting). Now these last 20 are being stubborn. Still doing IF, but going nowhere for a few months, so probably will do OMAD (one meal a day) for a few days and see if that gets 'er going again.

When I complained about how hard it was to drop weight, my doctor scoffed and said, "Then just lose five pounds. NO excuses. ANYBODY can lose five pounds." I took the advice, and it was easier, both physically and psychologically, than I thought it would be - and it felt good to make even that small change.
For this year's New Years' Resolution, I decided to take it a step further. After I dropped that five pounds, I decided I'd do it again - no pressure, no time frame, just drop another five. "Just five pounds" is neither an overwhelming goal nor an overwhelming challenge. I'm down almost two sizes since Christmas!
