I don't think people buy them thinking an electric car is better for the environment. They just want something new and different. I'm sure that's why my brother got one. My son got one because he could afford it. Honestly, he hardly drives anywhere, and its only 20 minutes to get to work. He could walk or bike it, he said.

My brother says it's fun to drive. Plus it goes like heck when he wants to tailgate someone. I've never driven so I can't be impartial. He is always complaining about something with the car. Wind noise. Odd audio signals but doesn't know what they mean.

I prefer to ride the senior bus. BTW you don't have to be a senior to ride it FREE. If you have a disability(any kind) you can ride regardless of age. All the township buses have wheelchair lifts.

My husband loves electric cars and motorcycles. He's dying to get one. He drives a Prius now but I think for him, it's just the prospect of having something different and not having to buy gas again. We actually test drive a Leaf last year and it was pretty neat but too pricey. Me, I'm happy with my SUV lol.
