I read an article this week about a lady at Walmart buying ink cartridges and it was cheaper to buy a new printer.

That's unfortunately true for those of us who buy cheap printers. And really, Who needs a printer with a fax anymore?

I read an article this week about a lady at Walmart buying ink cartridges and it was cheaper to buy a new printer.

I did this last time I needed ink. Cannon Printer/ scanner on sale at Target $20. Ink for printer that did everything (that I didn't use) $20 each cartridge.
I retired in 2012 and have used less than 2 reams of paper.

They sell the printers cheap to get you on the ink carriage purchases.
But there is still a catch. The ink cartridges that come with a new printer are not as full as the replacement ones.
