If summer squash and zucchini feel like warm slugs, you're cooking them too long. :old
I can honestly say I never cooked them (my husband is the family cook) but I’ve had the same issue with various restaurants, my husband’s attempts (that got shut done early in Our marriage), and of course Mommy Dearest’s. She did try hiding zucchini by shredding it and putting it in another vegetable dish, but I caught that right away! Shredded zucchini=warm maggots.

Ok, super breaded and deep fried or tempura. I’ll take that. But I’m guessing all the breading and oil nullifies any veggie benefit? ☺️
It doesn't. And if fried correctly, there's barely any oil left on the food.

Maybe you are allergic to it.

My grandmother forced my mother to eat seafood, even when she threw it up. She never ate seafood as an adult.
Fast forward 70 years, a dye shot in the eye to check for macular degeneration progress cause her to retch. I was queasy thinking about a shot in the eye.
They had asked if she had any allergies. They said she must have a seafood allergy, because that's was in the shot. Benadryl took care of it then and I would give her a Benadryl before we left on future visits.
I don’t think I have a true allergy, just a true aversion ☺️
