Prologue.

A dark, angry howl periced the darkness of the night, as I gingerly made my way through the forest. I didnt know where or why I was going, but I was; like I was on puppet strings; having no control over by limbs. Hooded figures shaped like trees, or trees shaped like hooded figures; i dont really know, cast their dark shadows over me. Towering over me, like I was a meer mortal who ate their dinner. An eerie sound echoed in my ears; playing with my mind, getting louder and louder. It screached and tingled and it felt like someone had banged my head against a wall repeatedly. Then, helplesly I started to run, images flew past me that were disturbing, no, they were more then just disturbing; If a Unicorn were here, it would for sure turn the innocent creature into a blood-thirsty devil, red, hot and steaming with pure anger. I ran faster, the noises got louder and the images turned real. Mocking me and tolling with my mind. I tried to stop, I really did, but the more I tried, the faster I went. Suddenly, I felt a sharp pain travailng rapidly up my body.I stopped, but It didnt make things any better. I shut my eyes in pain. Darkness.

Chapter One. Fariea.
I opened my eyes, only to shut them again. I placed my hand over my forehead and re opened my eyes and squinted, allowing me to see. The wind blew the backlit leaves, so they cast a nice shadow on my face, allowing me to see properly without me having to squint my eyes. Warm sunlight danced around my skin, the friendly trees making a dappled pattern on the leaf covered ground that I lay on. I sat up and rubbed my eyes. There was a faint noise that I could hear, that my sleepy brain recognised as the sound of running water. I could also hear forest birds singing their morning call to one another, announcing the start of a new, fresh day.

I was surrounded by autumn trees, swaying softly to nature's music. Where was I? Was last night real or a nightmare? How did I get in the woods? I concluded to myself that it was just a nightmare, in wich i was sleepwalking, again. I have tried about everything to stop me sleep walking: Tablets, herbal remidies, even hypnotism. None of them had worked for me. Dispite the saying,'You should never wake up somebody who is sleep walking'', my family had tried endless times to wake me, without much sucess. Once we even tried getting my Dad's friends round for a sleepover, because my family said that maybe I wasn't waking up because I recognised them. It didnt work.

I stood up and shook myself free of the jewel colored leaves that covered me. Eww, was that me? There was a horrid stench that surrounded me that smelt just like dry sweat, but this didn't smell ordinary, just like everything else that had happened this morning: everything gave me a shiver up my spine, like someone breathed down my back. It gave me the spooks. I shivered at the thought, then recomposed myself and went to go find some water.

It didnt take me long to find what I was looking for. A waterfall, about three meters high and two meters wide, ran infront of me. Several small birds danced around the edge, flicking and rolling in the shallow, clear, blue water. Where the waterfall came to an end, there was a pool that lead onto little streams that travled in various directions. The sunlight gently reflected off the water, giving it a rather magical appearance.

Gently I hopped over the pebbles that lay in the little stream that blocked my way to the pool. They were smooth and suprisingly warm as I made my final hop to the edge of the pool. Just as i reached out towards the water, I felt something tug me back. Looking behind my shoulder, I saw that my forest green dress had got caught in a branch next to me. I untangled it, but I got scratched by the thorns in the proscess of doing so. Ouch, they were deep. I never knew that a bush could do so much damage. It was very weird.

Chapter Two. Bryan.

I watched her from the privacy of my treehouse, as she walked into land unknown to her, she was a foreigner to most of our kind, but not to me. I had been one of her kind, a long, long time ago, I had even lived in their hard huts before, but all of that was in the past, I was one of the Wilders now, we were free and spirited, but not ignorant. Normal, people of the girls kind were greedy, selfish and inpure, but there was something different about the one who dared to wonder into the freelands. Although I knew she would indeed have some of her kind's triats, she seemed surprisingly innocent and pure.
