It's been a real benefit to have responsible people run the swaps, we just have to figure a way to weed out the ones that commit and for whatever reason change their minds and cant follow through..it will always happen, just one of those things that have to be factored in. It doesn't bother me so much on the crochet swaps, I pretty much expect it to happen to some degree.

Anyway...my blocks are done and bagged and to be honest, I am a bit proud of them this time! I think they are cute and my workmanship is sooooooooo much better than it was. My next real challenge is to get the pieced blocks mastered...I love some of those blocks in the springtime swap and want to learn to make those with all the points and corners matching and the sizing right. Might have to do the freezer paper thing to keep my seams the right size until I get better at it..anyway, by the time we have another major swap, I'll be ready!

Scrambled I thought your block from the spring swap was very well made. I don't think you have anything to worry about. I am getting my blocks for this swap out by the end of the month, I am shooting for the beginning of the week as seeing that the last week of the month I am helping one of my sisters cook for her daughters wedding. Planning for 1000 people. I sure hope that goes fast and ok LOL>

As far as the swaps go, I really think the people who can not finish the commitment that take the time to contact the person running the swaps really need to be commended.

I learned from the Fill the Box swap, once signups are closed, have each participant then individully PM the swap hostess their mailing address. This way, I was able to tell that each one that signed up kept up with the thread and was more likely to follow through.

I did the same with the 2nd MYB swap. So far, both look good for no "no-shows".

SE your blocks in the spring swap were fine, don't keep worrying about them.

Amy....The Barn Blocks are in the mail.

I took them this morning. The Postal lady made a mistake so you will find a lot of extra tape on the package.

And, of course, wouldn't you know, my DH got me a new Brother sewing/embroidery machine just after I finished the blocks. Won't look a gift horse in the mouth though 'cause he really is sweet. I really love it. It has 2 piecing stitches and 4 quilting stitches too, so that is a plus. I'm happy.

I get three paychecks next month and one will not have my standard $250.00 medical isurance premium in it..yes that is only a 1/2 payment. it cost me nearly $500.00 a month for my premiums .isn't that highway robbery!!..anyway...that extra money is for a Singer machine I've been looking at at Hancock Fabrics..it has 82 embroidery stitches and a self threader..they have a Bernina that has less stitches but it's a nice machine too, just partial to the big flat sewing bottom on the Singer..so yep, I'm envious and happy for you, loL!!! Now, go sew!!!!

So it goes to the geeks this week..

I am working on my blocks and finding some interesting things to do to make the houses different from the original pattern!

I will have them done in time for this swap though!

My banty hens hatched two chicks so far, only one died trying to get out of the shell.

And the other disappeared yesterday, I can't find it anywhere!

However, my Rex doe kindled Thursday night so I now have 5 little baby bunnies to add to the zoo here!

More later!

I'll post when your blocks arrive, leepsy.

Please don't sweat, anyone, getting done. There's still a month before the blocks are due to me.

Happy Sunday!

I am putting off even trying to do anymore of my schoolhouse blocks until May 9th. My 2 teens are going on a missions trip to Rochester New York with our church for a week to help out a missionsry family that we support.

This alone gives me only 1 child to work with on her schooling, therefore I will have time to work on my blocks.

I had a time trying to sew them the other day

I couldn't get them straight like the first 2. I sure hope they turn out O.K. Please forgive me if they aren't 110%.
