Yes, I plan to make 20 just like that now that I have discovered a way to get it together without folding and tucking, lol!! I had to order more of the red checkered material and hope what I ordered isn't giant checks but it was all I could find so I'll make do or head to Joann's or Hancocks in town. Thank you Prissy for the link, I ordered a transfer sheet like the link suggested. Joann's had some unbleached muslin on sale too so I'll probably use that for the backing, should be easy to embroider on too..used to do alot of that and the cross stitch. I feel so much more confident about this now that I have a method of getting that chicken on the fabric without flubbing and bunching up like the first attempt!! The applique (now that I understand what it is with regard to quilting!!) is right up my alley. Yep, might really start to like this quilting stuff after all, hahaha!!

That pattern is cute!!! So, Amy applique is ok??

Should I look for a "real" chicken or is doing baby chicks fine??

Let me know!

Applique is great, as long as the edges are turned under and sewn down.

No raw edges and no raw edges sewn down.

Chicks are fine.

These quilt square swaps intrigue me! I'm going to try a square this week (school vacation!) as a test, then if there's space left and I'm successful I may join you. Can't wait to see other photos whether or not I'm in!

You are all so talented!
