BYCville Town Quilt Block Swap SIGNUPS CLOSED

OMG MP! I love the Country Cluckers quilt patterns! I may have to buy the whole thing and make one for myself! That's about as close to me owning my own farm as I'll get!

Any woven fabric will tear straight across the grain.

The way to tell cotton is if you use a lighter and light a little of the corner, cotton will burn and polyester will melt/dissolve. I've never tried this....but it is something I was told in my beginning quilting years.

Oh gosh...I'd never seen that pattern! Just googled it.....that is so cute!!! May have to add it to my "wish" list lol

I guess I will have to design my own church cause I can not find one that gets my attention. I will try the burn test after I google to find out if there are any other ways. I love some of the patterns and material in there and would love to share them with someone who would cherish them like me. I can post pics of the fabrics so yall can see and this material is the real mccoy bought in 60's, 70's, and 80's. Nana and my Auntie would stock pile material when on sale and then never had time to use it. Nana passed away in 1997 and Auntie just doesn't want to mess with quilting cause she has fibromyalgia. Thanks yall for the input

Teresa...I think any of us would feel special to receive the fabric. I know I would. I could say they don't make it like they used to, but you can get good fabric these days, but you pay a lot more for it than it cost "back then."

There is a few that have the tag pinned to it that tells the price, yards, and year. I just will not part with the pieces that have been cut out for a pattern. I plan on making myself a quilt with those. You would not believe the books, magazines, and patterns I also received & it is other crafts as well. I tell my Auntie all the time thank you. She had started a blue jean quilt and I plan on finishing it for her.

I have told everyone I know that I want any used denim from them so I can make a quilt but no one seems to have done anything about it yet.
