WELCOME Coyote

Thanks ya'll. I haven't had a chance to read this whole thread, yet.

Are there any other "rules" when it comes to the blocks?

1. 20--12.5 blocks

2. No ragged blocks.

Any specific colors to have or not to have?

Pieced or applique?

can someone shoot me the address where to send them in my PM.

Welcome Coyote!

That Chicken is Awesome, it Just might wind up as the center block in my quilt!.

Glad to know that we can applique them with the edges sewn down.

Have you heard anything from Amy? Have you received any of the blocks back from her Scrambled? Sure hope she sends them quick.

Glad to have you coyote......but one thing.....please don't eat that pretty chicken that gumps has made.

LOL! Coyotes are better at tripping over their own tails than getting a free chicken dinner!

I've got my house sketched up. Before I start this I just need to check a few things. $$$ is tight so I'm pulling from my stash. Do all the squares need to be the same? They will be post offices but they maybe different colors. Is whimsical ok? I cannot paper piece to save my life. I'm looking at doing something like this.

Whatcha think?

Hey CM,
frow.gif
welcome to the swap. No the blocks don't have to have the same material, they just all need to be post offices. And I think that pattern is very cute. It matches other whimsical chickens we will be swapping. My barn blocks, on the other hand, are very traditional.

I'm so glad you stepped in at the last minute. Now, if we could only get Amy to send SE, CW and my blocks to SE we would be fine.

Coyote that pattern is ADORABLE!!!! Cute, cute!! All my chickens are applique and every one is the same pattern but every one is a different fabric so I guess I have already set the standard for mixing it up, loL!!

I know you pro quilters dont need to be reminded about making sure the edges are not going to ravel and come apart but let me just say it anyway to be on record of having said it!! They must be stitched down well enough to endure washings and not ravel apart. 12.5 inches when pressed and yes 20 of them on cotton fabrics, that's it!!

Me personally, I love, love, love the whimsy, looking forward to these blocks!!! I extended the deadline two weeks for Coyote so you can now breathe a bit easier and get them to me no later than July 15th. You will need to send return postage but not mailers, I picked up those durable mailing paper/cloth-like envelopes from the post office, they are priority mail so adjust your postage to that and bear in mind that what you get back will weigh a bit differently than what you send, some folks may have "heavier" blocks so gauge your postage on a a fair assessment of what you might get back. Make your address legible and please put your BYC name and your real name so I can tell who you are, thanks!!!

Thanks so much
