Bye girl 😭

One of our pullets died this morning. She seemed fine at 6 am and dead at 11. My husband found her on the PDZ poop board covered in dirt.

She was a beautiful 8 month old cream legbar. The weird thing is rigor had already set in. Is that normal? So far, no signs of a struggle. What should I look for?

I'm very sorry for your loss. Without necropsy, any guesses on cause of death would just be guesses. They are very, very good at hiding illness, so it could have been something going on a while, but just missed. Could have been congenital, heart problem, other organ issue, viral, bacterial, reproductive issue etc. It's just impossible to know without a necropsy. So sorry.
