Hello there
We're fairly new to chickens. I've bought my first chickens back in May and now we're up to 60 so going strong.
We have a wide array of breeds I'm not 100% positive what some of them are to be honest but i do know that we have Rhode Island Reds, Silkies, and then unknown ladies lol. We have a broadie hen with babies that of course are of the unknown breed. We buy all of our chickens from the animal auction so unless its a "pure" breed or its specified at the auction, it's a surprise to us.
Backyard Chickens has come in handy when something goes wrong with one of the chicks and I'm scouring the internet trying to find the answer.
My fiance and I have a number of hobbies. We love to paint, work on cars, building things, welding, absolutely anything outdoors, and we are making farming a hobbie/lifestyle.
We have a huge family. 7 kids, with 6 being under the age of 12, rabbits, dogs, fish, and chickens. We're hoping to get horses, sheep, and pigs soon. We definitely enjoy farming and gardening as a family.
Thanks for welcoming us into your forum family
