Yaay for guineas (and a friend that wanted guineas)! Got to meet Terrihb today and help wrangle goats --- hope all is calm now.

I am so happy all our snakes have been non-poisonous ones here. We've only had black snakes, corn snakes, hog snakes, and worm snakes and tend to get more snakes visiting when there are more baby toad-lets in spring coming out of the goldfish ponds (only water source nearby). We didn't have a big hatch of toads this year and haven't seen any snakes at all this year --- nothing to attract them, I guess. I like snakes usually and catch and play with the non-poisonous ones when I cross their path (maybe another reason they are here no more).

Yup got to meet Lisa today. I want to thank you and Deb for all your help. Come to get guinea's and helped wrangle the darn goats. Everyone is calm and back to normal.

Anyone have any experience with quail? I've got my first coturnix quail eggs coming this week. I've read up on it on the quail forum. The only thing I'm having trouble with is building a little pen/box for them. I'm not building a flight pen for them, so it doesn't have to be too advanced....but I'm thinking that chicken coops are a lot easier thrown together than the quail pens seem to be.

SO, somebody help!!

Only experience I have with quail is with cooking them

...sorry.
Anyone ever been to the auction in Swainsboro? I know they have chickens but wondering if there are any good ones?

Well I got the frame built for the quail pen. Its 9' long 3' wide 2' tall. Should hold 33 quail at Max capacity. Will put the walls for the enclosed part and the hardware cloth for the open air part on tomorrow. I will take some pics when I get done building it. Its all scrap wood except the plywood walls and hardware cloth. Altogether it was only $53.
