I want to order some pure breed heritage Javas from Garfield Museum in Illinois this Spring. They ship a minimum of two dozen at a time. Anyone want to pitch in?

There is 1 white that 7-ish wks-old (outside already), 4 whites that are 5-ish wks-old and 3 whites that are almost a week-old. I'll get pics and prices for you. One of the white hens has been broody forever and may have more chicks hatching between now and the 5th (I need to bring all those eggs in and candle).

Just found out about this group from someone on craigslist. We had a flock of broiler chickens that my husband bought that recently got killed by a stray dog. I had wanted egg laying chickens, but my husband bought cornish rocks thinking a chicken was a chicken. We never had the heart to kill them, so we just fed them and the kids loved them till this last weekend when the neighbors dog took care of them when we were away. I am now desperately looking for some chicks or even chickens at a decent price. Only stipulation is they MUST be egg layers. Prefer 6-8 hens and a rooster. Even willing to start over with chicks, but I know it isn't the right time of year to be doing this. If anyone has any they are willing to part with so I can make my kids happy, please let me know.
